✈️ Holi

Mathura, India · March 10–11

The Festival of Colors is the most joyful public celebration in the world. For one day, normal social rules suspend — strangers drench each other in clouds of bright powder and water, music plays everywhere, and every street turns into a kaleidoscope. The most intense Holi celebrations happen in Mathura and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh — the home of Krishna — where the festival lasts a full week and the traditions run deepest. Arriving by train from Agra or Delhi is part of the experience.
