Local Knowledge

The festival spans two consecutive weekends in late April through early May — each weekend has a different lineup so many attendees come both. Single-day tickets are the norm; book well ahead for headliner days as they sell out. The food is as essential as the music — lines for crawfish bread, cochon de lait, and Cajun cuisine are part of the experience. Stay in the French Quarter or Marigny for walkable nightlife that extends the festival well past closing time. Arrive early on big headliner days as the Fair Grounds fills fast and rideshare queues are brutal at close.
